30 April 2024 –
LandWorks was delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Devon, Commodore Jake Moores OBE DL Royal Navy, to our Dartington resettlement centre on Thursday 18th April 2024, where he joined us for lunch, a tour of site – and a game of boules! A long-term supporter, The High Sheriff has chosen LandWorks as one of his charities of the year.
Reflecting on his first regular visit as High Sheriff, Jake (as he is known to us) said: ‘It was a great privilege and a pleasure to visit LandWorks again and to see all the excellent work you are doing with your trainees. I was greatly impressed by the extension to the site, and the way you are using the space to help raise funds. That combined with the excellent work you do with your trainees is most impressive. The lunch was superb, and I really enjoyed talking to the trainees and LandWorks team over the food as well as the game of boules. It felt like an extremely happy family, and one that meant so much to each other.”
In April 2021 LandWorks received a High Sherriff Award from former High Sheriff of Devon, Gerald Hine-Haycock in recognition of our work with people in the criminal justice system and our contribution to the community.
