Chris and Julie Parsons start to develop the idea of supporting prisoners within their landscaping company
2007
Funding is secured from a private donor, to provide sponsorship for three men (prolific offenders) to join Greenlands at the point of release from HMP. Scheme runs for 3 years
2011
Chris contacts Celia Atherton to discuss idea of a scheme for prolific offenders at The Dartington Hall Trust (Dartington had already publically expressed wish to be involved in work of this kind). Initial planning, preliminary meetings and discussions

Sarah Hocking joins as LandWorks Intern. Mic Chambers starts to deliver woodworking 1dpw. Trainees increased from three to four days per week on site

LandWorks officially launched by Erwin James and Sarah Wollaston MP. First Advisory Board meeting takes place

Trainees start work on LandWorks garden. First 3 Art student placements from Plymouth Uni. Tony Hawks (BBC Radio 4) becomes first LandWorks Patron

New trainees Jack and Andrew start. First volunteers start mentoring. The new Big Lottery funded building is completed, within which Project Coordinator Sarah Hocking sets up the new office. LandWorks recipe book goes on sale. New covered market stall at Quarry Field gate with enhanced public interaction.

KJ Employs LandWorks graduate Alan. Julie Parsons begins new research – PeN Project (A Window Into LandWorks). Extension built to Market Garden stall, increasing sales on the gate.
