Hello,

Dates are often so significant.

In the last few days, we have separately welcomed visits from two families whose sons died within the last two years.

The families wanted to return to the place where their son – and, in both cases, they were fathers – had been treated with dignity and respect for who they were. LandWorks had meant a great deal to them, and these long-term connections remain deeply important.

Both men had moved into better chapters of their lives, finding stability and rebuilding relationships with their families.

For these anniversaries, loved ones have planted trees and rose bushes at LandWorks, creating a lasting connection with a place that represents something positive and hopeful in their respective families’ s stories.

Just as all this was happening, we received a message from George, who was with us four years ago, to tell us that his baby boy had been born. Life is going well for him, and he has recently secured a job with the Probation Service. He is coming to visit us soon with his young family.

We are all looking forward to George’s visit.

Dates are important, and this week marks the anniversary of LandWorks. We started in 2013, and the same belief in people is as strong today as it was then.

As we move into our fourteenth year, there is much to reflect on, but one of the constants has been the long-term connections that LandWorks creates. That includes you, our wonderful supporters, who do so much to enable LandWorks to continue growing from strength to strength.

This year’s Supporters’ Day is on Friday 21st August, from 10.00am to 12.00 noon. There will be speeches followed by tea and cake at around 11.00am.

Please do come and join us, there is a lot to show you. (Let us know if you can make it – more details in the box below).

This year we are making a particular appeal for regular support. The evidence continues to show that LandWorks makes a profound difference to people’s lives, but, importantly, that meaningful change takes time. To achieve this, LandWorks also needs long-term, reliable support.

By setting up a regular donation (any amount), you can help provide the steady foundation that enables us to transform lives and create lasting change.

We know our supporters already do an enormous amount to help the charity, but if you are able, please consider becoming a regular donor, either online or by speaking to us at Supporters’ Day.

And thank you to everyone who already donates in this way.
