13 May 2026 –

On the weekend of 6-7th June, members of the public will once again have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Sandridge Park estate near Stoke Gabriel, as owners Mark and Rosemary Yallop open their gardens in support of LandWorks.

Set within a stunning 150-acre estate overlooking the River Dart, visitors will be able to explore 10 acres of formal gardens, orchards, woodland walks and walled gardens, all carefully restored over the past two decades. The estate itself has a fascinating history, with connections to Sir Walter Raleigh and a role in preparing US forces for D-Day during the Second World War. Today, Sandridge Park is widely admired for its thoughtful restoration and peaceful setting.

Last year’s Open Gardens weekend welcomed nearly 700 visitors and raised an incredible £20,000 for LandWorks. This year, alongside the gardens, guests can enjoy refreshments, picnics, crafts and produce created by LandWorks participants, plus a newly marked riverside walk through the estate. Every ticket sold will support LandWorks’ life-changing work helping people leaving prison rebuild their futures, find employment and reconnect with their communities.

Even better, thanks to a generous supporter, the first £5,000 raised will be match funded, doubling the impact of every visit.

“It is very kind of Mark and Rosemary to open their beautiful gardens again in aid of LandWorks,” said Chris Parsons, LandWorks Director.  “Last year was hugely enjoyable and we are grateful to everyone involved in making this event happen again. All proceeds will go towards running the charity, helping people to start a new life, stop reoffending and ultimately make our communities safer.”

The Sandridge Park gardens will be open to the public on Saturday 6th June and Sunday 7th June between 11am and 5pm each day. Entry will be £8 for adults, £15 for couples and free for accompanied children. Dogs on leads welcome. There will be plenty of parking available on site. Refreshments will be available, and visitors are welcome to bring a picnic.
